Chapter 12: The Unfair Advantage Nobody Talks About
Following the fun, Naval wisdom, and 2000+ new internet friends
Saturday morning. The smell of fresh espresso, quiet background music, and a soft breeze blowing outside. I’m in a Portuguese cafe, writing, with a smile on my face.
It’s one of those mornings that makes you pause and feel extra grateful.
Anyway, let’s dive in.
The Big Idea
How do you get more done without working more hours?
This question transformed how I think about wealth and productivity.
The secret? Leverage.
The Concept
Naval Ravikant, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and investor, popularized this topic. His core message? If you want to build wealth, you need help.
Why? Because there's a limit to hustle. No matter how talented or driven you are, you've only got 24 hours a day. Pushing harder eventually hits a wall.

That's where leverage comes in. It's how you break free from time constraints and make your work compound while you sleep.
He breaks leverage down into four types.
The Four Types of Leverage
Capital
Using money to make money
Think investments, equity, and funding that work 24/7
Labor
Building teams to expand your output
The classic approach: more hands = more impact
Code
Software that scales infinitely
Build once, works forever
Examples: apps, automation tools, platforms
Media
Content that spreads your message while you sleep
Podcasts, YouTube channels, newsletters, etc
Your ideas working for you around the clock
My Leverage Experiment
I'm currently testing media leverage through my 30 Days, 30 Stories challenge on Instagram.
I chose media because:
One good story can reach millions
It aligns with my skills and interests
(And honestly, I don't know how to code 😄)
Seven days in, the results are exciting:
2000+ new IG followers (240% growth!)
100’s of inbound messages
Most importantly: I'm loving the process
The numbers aren’t everything, but they do show what can happen when you start taking this idea seriously.
Your Turn
Which form of leverage could you start building today?
Think about:
What comes naturally to you?
Where do you already have some advantage?
Which type excites you most?
Remember: You don't need to do it all. You just need to start somewhere.

My favorite quote this week
“It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. They teach us how to think. If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact. But give him a question and he'll look for his own answers.” - Patrick Rothfuss
